Baton Rouge General- The Baton Rouge General is another major hospital in Baton Rouge. Actually, it is two hospitals. They have one on Florida Boulevard, and another off of Bluebonnet Boulevard. They can be reached at 225-387-7000. The Baton Rouge General has 544 beds, hundreds of medical doctors covering virtually every specialty, an emergency room, and many nurses and supporting staff.
Woman's Hospital- If you are delivering a baby in the Capital City, chances are that he/she will be born at Woman's Hospital. This Baton Rouge hospital only treats women, and they are great at it. Their hospital is located on Airline Highway, and you can contact Woman's at 225-927-1300.
Ochsner Hospital- Ochsner recently purchased the old Summit Hospital off of O'Neal Lane. They can be reached at 225-752-2470. Ochsner has an emergency room, many doctors, and supporting staff.
Earl K. Long- The city's charity hospital is Earl K. Long (EKL). EKL is located on Airline Highway, and you can contact them at 225-358-1000. The hospital provides free medical care to the needy, and it has numerous clinics to take care of their needs.
