"Holy Cow!" 2/8/08
Just a quick update on this Cajun Blog. We've been too busy this last week to do much here. I'm sorry to everyone that is waiting on the Cajun Names update with some real info.
Have you noticed the price of live crawfish right now? Holy cow!! The're about $2.49 per pound by the sack in Baton Rouge. Better yet, you can't hardly get crawfish! Lent came so early this year that the crawfish farmers just can't keep up with the demand.
"Friendly Advice" 1/30/08
I have some good news to spread on this silly Cajun blog today. A very nice man from the little town of L'Anse Grise sent me an email yesterday. He has a site of his own, and he wrote to tell me that I enjoyed this one. He also helped me fix some lyrics on the Hank Williams page, and he gave me some other design advice. It meant a lot to me. A little bit of friendly advice is huge right now. I'm not crying for attention yet, but it's really nice to get some feedback every now and then. I have a lot of plans for this site, but it's hard to do it all without knowing what others think about it. If you have some friendly advice for me, would you maybe send me an email? I sure could use it. I'm not really sensitive either, so feel free to criticize all you want. Every piece of criticism will be accepted as it should be- with appreciation.
I have managed to get a few new pages running in the last couple of days. I am on a legal theme roll right now, but I will be switching to some Cajun Names real soon. I have about half of the Hebert name completed, but there are at least 20 more waiting for me. Check out Louisiana Cancer Alley and Louisiana Civil Law if you are bored. Until the next Cajun blog, thank you all for reading this, and for the friendly advice.
"Company Comes Over!" (1/28/08)
Today I want to tell everone on this Cajun Blog that we had company come over. Actually it was my wife's cousin from Lake Charles, and her husband. They ended up staying over with us last night, and we had a lot of fun. We ate a lot of good food, told a few jokes, and even played some games. It was really nice to see them. They are trying to talk us into moving down to Lake Charles, but I told them that there is no way in XXXX I am moving down there! lol We had a lot of fun.
As far as an update on our site goes, I finished an easy page today: Louisiana Attorney Discipline Board. It was really easy, and it was a nice change of pace on here. I hope one or two of you enjoy the information on it.
"Dog Tired" (1/27/08)
Have you ever heard the expression dog tired? Have you ever said it? This is my only addition to the Cajun Blog today. Why? Because I am dog tired! lol Seriously, we have been working our butts off on this site. We have just added a HUGE page to the site about Louisiana, and I don't even want to tell you how many hours we spent on that one!
Since I really am dog tired, I will say goodbye for now. I will do my best to update everyone in this Cajun Blog tomorrow. Nite, nite!
"Wayne Toups & A Cold?" (1/23/08)
I had to force myself to update this Cajun blog today. Why? I think I have a cold/ the flu/ or something weird. I broke into a pretty bad fever last night. When I woke up today the fever was gone, but I have felt like a zombie all day. What a bummer! I just feel like a shell, my bones hurt, and I feel "clammy". Any Cajun doctors out there wasnt to give me a virtual diagnosis? For free? lol
I forced myself to post something in the Cajun blog to tell everyone that the Wayne Toups page is up. My wife just loves that man. Luckily for me, he's on the road continuously, so she shouldn't be bumping into him any time soon. I hope. lol Check it out of you want to. I probably need to go back and do it some more justice, but there's too much to do here right now. I still have 200+ pages to add!!!
Geez.... Back to bed. Y'all take care.
"LSU National Championship Party" (1/19/08)
Today is a really easy day to update the Cajun blog! We took a little trip to Baton Rouge to Tiger Stadium. Today was the celebration party for the LSU football team. You know, the team that just won the national championship! It was great. We got to listen to the Louisiana Gogernor Bobby Jindal, LSU Coach Les Miles, Athletic Director Skip Bertman, and many of the great players. We had a real good time. If you are interested in seeing some great pictures, check out my little boy's LSU fan site. He is a true LSU fan! Visit: LSU National Championship Celebration Party
In other news, the Hank Williams Jr page is finally up. I put a lot of work into this one. If you have any feedback to share with me, please shoot us an email. We would love to hear from you. The next page that should be up tonight is on Edwin Edwards. That one should be a lot of fun.
I will try to update this Cajun Blog tomorrow. See ya then!
"Hank Williams Is Up!" (1/17/08)
Just a quick note on the Cajun blog. I finally finsihed the Hank Williams page! Yes! We worked our tails off on this one. I sure hope you all like it.
"Happy Birthday & So Much To Do" (1/16/08)
I have sort of promised myself to update this Cajun blog every day, ay least for a while. Today was a day that made this so easy to do. Our son Q... had his 12th birthday today! We had a great time with it too. Q got checked out of school early, he had a huge double bacon hamburger, he got to play video games for most of the rest of the day, and then we met some more family for dinner. Where did we eat dinner? I should say a Cajun restaurant, but that's not true. We ate at a new Mexican buffet. It was fairly priced, we got our money's worth, and all of us left with a smile. Q got several presents that he wanted, most of which I don't even understand. It was a good day. Happy birthday Q!!!
Now for the so much to do. On the last Cajun blog I explained that I am adding content and pages here as quickly as possible. I am very pleased to announce two new pages that we worked really hard on: Mardi Gras and 2008 Mardi Gras Parade Schedule. Both of these pages have a lot of content. We hope that you enjoy them. On the other side of the coin, there is just a ton of work to do. The number of pages that we need to fill to cover these two pages alone is nuts: Famous Cajuns, Cajun Names. We'll get to it as soon as we can. I wish there was a way to speed this up, but I just don't see it.
For the next Cajun blogger I want to talk about a few great Cajun restaurants. Until then, thank you for visiting!
"King Cakes & Tons To Do" (1/15/08)
We had our first king cake of this Mardi Gras season yesterday. I have to tell you that it wasn't excatly great, as far as king cakes go, but we sure finished it in a hurry. I really like king cakes that are freash, and that have a cream cheese filling. This one was kind of stale, without any filling. Oh well. It was still exciting! I almost think that we only look forward to Mardi Gras now for the king cakes!
I have so much to do on this site. I literally have over 200 pages to add. Ot just seems like I don't have enough time. I have worked so hard on it, but there is so much more to do. I should be adding to this Cajun blog every day, I have a lot of research to finish, and I need to keep tinkering with the design. A few other webmasters have insulted this design pretty hard, so I need to think about it. I do need a header graphic, but that's the least of my problems. I got indexed in Google yesterday. 34 out of 62 pages indexed so far. That's a good start.
If any of you have any suggestions for me, please contact me. This site is literally for you. Thanks!
"Launch Of The Cajun Blog & The Site" (1/3/08)
Today is the launch of the www.cajuncrawfishpie.com site! It's very exciting. I have so much to do, and so little time to do it in. I guess that patience is a virtue, but it sure aint fun!
The talk in all of Louisiana right now is the upcoming BCS National Championship game. LSU is going to kick some Ohio State butt! We need it down here. Every bit of good news goes a long ways right now.
This Cajun Blog section should be pretty fun. I plan on allowing comments in the Cajun Blog fairly soon. It will be great to get some feedback from everyone, as long as it is positive. lol
Thank you everyone for making this site so much fun for us. We promise to make it as great as we can. If you see something that we could improve upon, leave a comment in this Cajun Blog or email us.
