Corn And Shrimp Soup Recipes

Love corn and shrimp soup in Louisiana!

Corn and shrimp soup is almost sinful! If you have never tried it, you have no idea what you are missing. For such an easy Cajun food to prepare, corn and shrimp soup will blow your guests socks off!

We have tried a lot of corn and shrimp soup recipes, and we have begged many cooks for their recipes. Out of the ones that we were able to get, these are our favorite corn and shrimp soup recipes. We hope you enjoy them! If you have any that you would like to add, please email us.

" Easy Corn And Shrimp Soup"

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 chopped up white onion
  • 1 cup of chopped green onions
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 lb. of small, peeled shrimp (fresh Gulf shrimp are the best!)
  • 1 can of Ro-Tel tomatoe sauce
  • 3 cans of corn

Instructions:

  • In a pot, heat the vegetable oil over a medium heat and slowly add the flour to make the roux. Stir continuously until it is brown (about 10 minutes).
  • Add the onions and cook it for another 5 minutes.
  • Add the tomoatoes and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Add the water and raise the temperature until it comes to a boil.
  • Lower the temperature to medium and add the shrimp, corn, and butter.
  • Cook for another 20 minutes uncovered.
  • Serve in bowls and garnish with red pepper.
