When looking at the map of Baton Rouge, Louisiana you can see that there are a few major roads that you need to memorize: Airline Highway, Florida Boulevard, I-10, I-110, and I-12. If you can remember these five major roads on the Baton Rouge map, you will never be lost for long.
In general, Airline Highway runs North and South through Baton Rouge. Airline has two or three lanes, and it has numerous major businesses on it including hotels, car dealerships, bowling alleys, and others. If you head North on Airline Highway, you will cross the Mississippi River and head towards Opelousas, Louisiana. If you head South on Airline, you will enter Ascension Parish, and eventually end up in New Orleans.
Florida Boulevard crosses Airline Highway as it moves from West to East through Baton Rouge. Florida Blvd. also has many major businesses on it including Greyhound, car dealerships, and restaurants. If you head West on Florida, the map of Baton Rouge, Louisiana shows that it will dead end at the Mississippi River in downtown. If you head East on Florida you will enter Livingston Parish on your journey through Denham Springs and Walker.
I-10 (Interstate 10) is a major interstate that crosses the southern U.S. I-10 passes directly through the middle of Baton Rouge, in a West to East direction. If you head East on I-10, the map shows that you will end up in New Orleans in just over an hour. If you head West on I-10, you will cross the Mississippi River on a major bridge, and be heading towards Lafayette.
I-12 splits off from I-10 between College Drive and Essen Lane. I-12 will take you towards Denham Springs if you travel to the East. If you go West on I-12 you will intersect with I-10.
I-110 splits off from I-10 near downtown. I-110 travels in a North and South direction. If you travel North on I-110, you will end up on Scenic Highway which will take you to St. Francisville, Louisiana.
